Selection Index (s) is an independent project based in France, operating at the intersection of an evolving archive and a specialized bookstore dedicated to singular independent publications. Our mission is to document the independent editorial scene and support underrepresented contemporary practices.

We explore the materiality of the book as a vehicle for reflection, capturing the way ideas and forms are shaped today. Our inventory acts as a space of collision between genres: from reference monographs to raw zines, our selection stands at the intersection of visual arts, urban counter-cultures, everyday architecture, and new forms of storytelling.

At the core of our approach is the Indexing System (SI). To index a work is to affirm its place in contemporary culture and offer it a permanent record.
